Drivers struck and killed four pedestrians in metro Denver over the weekend, putting Colorado on track to beat last year’s record-breaking number of pedestrian fatalities.Early Saturday morning, between 3 and 4 a.m., 34-year-old Andrea Reza was struck by the driver of an SUV while crossing Colfax Avenue in front of the pedestrian bridge.Reza was pronounced dead at the scene, Aurora police said.The suspect fled the scene in what is believed to be a silver Ford Explorer and has not yet been found, Aurora police spokesperson Sydney Edwards said.No arrests had been made as of Monday morning. A driver suffered minor injuries Friday night after their car hit a large elk on Interstate 25, just north of Colo. 66.The driver declined transport to the hospital, according to a Mountain View Fire Rescue tweet.A second motorist drove into a guardrail and rolled their car while attempting to avoid the elk, which was lying in the roadway. A two-year investigation into footwear giant Crocs’ complaint about potential trademark violations by various other businesses has left the Broomfield-based company both a winner and a loser.The U.S. International Trade Commission’s probe came to a close this month, clearing American retailer Hobby Lobby, American wholesale company Orly Shoe Corp. and Chinese-owned Amoji of any infractions, according to a Federal Register notice.The government agency issued limited exclusion orders, which typically ban the importation of products made by violating companies, to four parties: La Modish, Star Bay, Huizhou Xinshunzu Shoes Co. and Jinjiang Anao Footwear Co. Speed limits are set to be lowered in the city, including dozens to 20 mph or slower.The City Council approved the changes in December, and now, the city is beginning the process of phasing in the changes on 111 street segments.The segments, which total 92 miles, "include streets in all types of neighborhoods in every council district," the city said on its website."Notably, 50 segments totaling 37.7 miles will now have speed limits of 20 mph or less," city officials added.
