Miami Fire Rescue holds 125th anniversary celebration in Coconut Grove The City of Miami Department of Fire Rescue celebrated its 125th anniversary with a big party to honor heroes.Families and elected officials enjoyed a day filled with games and food in Coconut Grove, Saturday afternoon, all to celebrate the department’s dedication to the Miami community.“It’s a beautiful thing. We feel honored; we have the greatest job on Earth,” said Miami Fire Rescue Deputy Fire Chief Robert Hevia, “and to be able to see people here continue to support us and be able to interact with the public in a non-emergency basis, these are truly days that we look forward to.”The celebration comes at an auspicious time. Applications for new recruits to be part of the team open next week.

Body of 17-year-old swimmer recovered from Winchester lake Firefighters have recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy who went missing while swimming at Shannon Beach in Winchester on Saturday.Troopers and members of the Massachusetts Environmental Police responded to the beach in the Upper Mystic Lakes around 7 p.m. and the teen’s body was later recovered by firefighters, state police said. Their name has not been released.A preliminary investigation suggests the victim was with a group swimming approximately 100 yards offshore outside the swim zone.  At some point fellow swimmers realized he was no longer at the surface. Over 10K PG&E customers affected in Rohnert Park power outage (KRON) -- Two power outages Saturday afternoon have affected over 10,000 customers in Rohnert Park, a PG&E spokesperson confirmed to KRON4. However, officials could not confirm if the outages are related to the ongoing Bay Area heat wave. The first outage happened at 4:41 p.m. and affected 6,333 customers. As of 6 p.m., PG&E crews were able to safely restore power to 4,044 customers. The second outage happened at 4:42 p.m. and affected 5,168 customers, according to PG&E. As of 6:04 p.m., 2,448 of those customers have had their power restored. A total of 11,501 PG&E customers were affected by this outage.
